Some great new collaborations, and a long awaited soloist this week at MIUC. Pete Warden has been making some pretty strange instruments in recent times, and performing on them under the name of Onion Engine. For this show, he has recruited his comrades from Electric Jellyfish, along with some additional guests, to let the psychedelic, outsider-garde sonics fly. World Grind Domination, features some of our favourite avant metalists in a new double voice/double blastbeat quartet. Brutal! And Harriet Morgan with her signature, abstracted black-metal-inspired grimcore solo project.

This show is also celebrating Discobeans' 2nd Anniversary (as a restaurant, I think?), and I think we've put together a line-up that really reflects the Discobeans Monday vibe of putting on varied music/noise line-ups where anything goes!
Massive thanks to Yuka and her staff for all their hard work running the restaurant and the bar and keeping the place going. Venues like Discobeans are pretty rare these days sadly. Next up at MIUC we focus on sonic abstraction utilising density-variation from analogue sources. The 13th annual Liquid Architecture festival of sound arts is upon us again, and thanks to LA, we have one of their featured artists, visionary Berlin-based improviser and sound sculptor Werner Dafeldecker, performing in collaboration with Melbourne’s Sean Baxter. Death By Cones, a monstrous quartet exploring the physical limits of the speaker cone, featuring four experts in the field of brutal noise. And, a duo of sublime, psychoacoustic energy featuring Rodney J Cooper and Leith Thomas, employing 2 of Cooper’s hand-made creations.
