UMBILICAL TENTACLE @ DISCOBEANS MONDAY - 03/12/2012

UMBILICAL TENTACLE
Rambunctious moshgrindsurfpartynoisecore, dancefloor destroyers, manic mullets, cowbells and more!! With Yuka (vocals/electronics), Nik (vocals/instruments/electronics) and Brad (drums/hitting).

TODD ANDERSON-KUNERT
Audiovisual doom, noise and drone.

ZAC KEILLER
Zac Keiller seeks to discover new and unique sonic textures from one of the most overused and unimaginatively approached instruments in Western music: The guitar. The majority of his previous releases saw him working with ambient textures or electroacoustic improvisation. Whilst more recent efforts have seen him limiting the use of pedals, attempting to find a kind of transcendence through stark purity of tone, using the entire guitar, attempting to make it breathe with no smoothing out of the rough edges or slick over processing. The compositions vary and grow to tell stories and create mood, with an atmosphere in parts epic wall of sound, while at others minimal and sublime.

UMBILICAL TENTACLE @ Bendigo Hotel - 29/11/2012

UMBILICAL TENTACLE - partynoisecore
Brutal cowbells and crushing blasts of epic proportion propel disgruntled and abrasive electronic noise whilst screams of chaos and delight smash your head from side to side in a whizzing like motion.

WARPIGS - meandering dissonance

Like wandering a field somewhere in Russia, you look up and all you can see are the power lines and you just can't stop thinking about Grandpa.

FUNERAL MOON - black metal
Featuring members of monster doom metal band Spacebong. Relentless and bleak with curdling screams that will leave you haunted.

NOÛS - devastating doom
Easily one of the most punishing doom bands Australia has to offer. Anyone that has not yet had the chance to see or hear this band really needs to check them out.

DUO WITH RORY BROWN @ DISCOBEANS MONDAY - 26/11/2012

GALACTAGOGUE
Intense noise and frowning. Your brain, deep fried.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Tc53cEBl44

RORY BROWN & NIK KENNEDY

Brown (double bass) and Kennedy (vocals/processing/electronics) reprise their duo of haunting electro-organic noisescapes.

MONOLITH

Primitive minimalist industrial drone bleakness.

REUBEN INGALL

Reuben Ingall (Canberra) sings and plays guitar through an array of home-made software patches controlled by a DIY footswitch, to create sad-pop buried in glitchy psychedelia.

TRANSMISSIONS
'Transmissions' operates as the guise of Nick McCorriston, sound designer and producer. He's a graduate in Sound Design at VCA and Sound Production at RMIT, and has recently realised a dream of turning his beloved childhood Nintendo Power Glove into a wireless musical instrument, which he uses to awake a childlike sense of playfulness in his set.

HOLY BONER @ Make It Up Club - 06/11/2012

This week, some improvised music to make you think! One of the great improv-shitcore duos has been resurrected as a trio: Holy Boner with added Rodney J. Cooper on handmade guitar as a permanent member. This is improvised noise-grind, somewhere between the most extreme avant garde classical music, and the most extreme grindcore, with abstracted noise as the mediator. Smash Tennis is a new duo of raw electro-acoustics with a punk attitude and a philosopher’s depth of interrogation. And Satyrs, exploring the outside limits of multiple synth-drone.

• Holy Boner, featuring: Nik Kennedy (Bass, Vocals), Brad Smith (Drums, Vocals) and Rod Cooper (Guitar, Vocals)
• Smash Tennis, featuring: Llara (Drumkit, Acid free tape) and Samaan (Guitar, Acid free tape)
• Satyrs, featuring: Jesse Dimmock (Saxophone, synth, drum machine), Alez Glasov (Synth) and Cooper Bowman (Synth)
